Trademark Office Action

What is an Office Action?
An Office Action is a document prepared by an examining attorney at the USPTO that explains (1) changes that are requested so that they can move the trademark application towards being a fully registered trademark and/or (2) rejections that must be overcome to meet the requirements to move the trademark application towards being a fully registered trademark.

Do I need to reply to my Office Action?
Yes. Responses to Office Actions must be received within 6 months of the mailing date printed on the Office Action document. There are no extensions to this deadline. Trademark Examiners have no discretion to extend the time period for filing. Remember, if you do not submit a timely response, your application will be abandoned.

If you have any questions regarding these deadlines, you are encouraged to consult with one of our licensed trademark attorneys — Tony Vann or Bambi Walters.  You may click on the link to send an email or you may call our office at 888-388-9614.  We are here to help.
